Before you start

A watch face that supports complications; available positions and apps depend on the model, face, and system.

A complication is simply a small information window or app shortcut on a watch face. Start with the two or three things you check most.

01Enter watch-face editing

Return to the watch face, touch and hold the screen, then tap Edit. Swipe left to the complications screen.

02Give each position a job

Tap a position, then turn the Digital Crown to choose content. Weather, Reminders, and Timers are useful places to start.

03Save and try it

Press the Digital Crown to save, then tap the face to activate it. Tap the shortcut you just set up and confirm that it opens the right app.

That’s it

You can see the information you need at a glance and reach the relevant tool with one tap.

Questions you may have

Why can’t I find a particular app?

First confirm the app is installed on Apple Watch. Not every app offers complications, and available styles may not fit every watch-face position.

Why is the number not updating live?

Complication refreshes are scheduled by the system. Tap through to the app when you need the newest value.
